Original drawings for the Carquinez Bridge Replacement project, 2000.

Opening day of the Al Zampa Memorial Bridge, November 8, 2003.

In March, 2000 ground was broken for a new Carquinez Bridge located in the northernmost section of the San Francisco Bay. The new span will replace the old bridge linking the communities of Crockett to the west and Vallejo to the east along Interstate Highway 80.

Over the next three years this site will record the building of this new span. This site is a project undertaken by a group of girls from Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Vallejo. Meet us....
